Requirements

Want to be a Design Engineer for Game Aerospace? 

As a Design Engineer, you will be key in translating engineering concepts into fabrication-ready documentation, ensuring that designs are manufacturable, meet specifications, and comply with industry standards. You will also contribute to the design and development of general aviation components and systems and support the creation of detailed designs, including the development of 3D models and assisting in certification documentation. You will work alongside experienced engineers, gaining hands-on experience and the opportunity to grow within the aviation industry.

In this role, you will be responsible for: 

  • Using SolidWorks to create detailed 3D models of aerospace components, considering angles, surfaces, clearances, tolerances, and material specifications.

  • Producing 2D drawings from 3D models, incorporating industry-standard dimensioning and tolerancing (ANSI and AWS) for manufacturing instructions.

  • Performing calculations on tolerance stack-ups and identify potential issues, collaborating with design engineers to resolve them.

  • Following company data control and change procedures to ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation.

  • Working closely with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to ensure drawings align with product specifications and manufacturability.

  • Revising existing drawings or models to accommodate product or process improvements.

  • Assisting in the development and validation of design concepts for general aviation aircraft components and systems.

  • Supporting the creation of certification programs, test plans, and reports for new designs and modifications.

  • Collaborating with the Aircraft Certification Office (ACO) and production teams on design audits, certifications, and compliance documentation.

  • Continuing to refine and revise 3D models and 2D drawings, taking on more responsibility for design development and certification efforts.

  • Helping ensure designs meet regulatory standards, safety protocols, and customer requirements.

Minimum requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent from an ABET accredited university (relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree on a case-by-case basis).

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience working in design for aerospace industry.

  • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, including knowledge of material specifications, tolerance analysis, and manufacturability.

  • Experience with 2D and 3D modeling.
